Women’s World Cup: Setterosa suffers but wins with New Zealand

In the debut match of Group A of the Women’s Water Polo World Cup, Italy beat New Zealand 14-9 in Singapore.

A hard-fought victory for the Azzurri, who were down 4-6 at halftime, but in the last two quarters they shifted gears, already ending the third quarter ahead 9-8 and then ramping up in the fourth.

For Italy three goals each by captain Cocchiere, Giustini and Ranalli. Sunday will be Setterosa’s second match against Australia.
