Jonathan Milan breaks Blue fast at Tour de France

Jonathan Milan breaks Italy’s long fast at the Tour de France, winning the eighth stage, the 171.4-kilometer-long Saint Méen le Grand – Laval. The rider from Friuli brings the Tricolor back to success in the Grande Boucle six years after Vincenzo Nibali, who won in Val Thorens on July 27, 2019.
The Lidl-Trek rider beat Wout van Aert (Visma – Lease a Bike) and Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck) in a sprint. In the top 10 two other Azzurri: Alberto Dainese (Tudor Pro Cycling Team), eighth, and Vincenzo Albanese, ninth (Education First – Easypost).
Tadej Pogacar remains firmly in the yellow jersey and at the head of the general classification with a 54-second lead over Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) and one minute and eleven seconds ahead of Kevin Vauquelin (Arkèa-B&B Hotels).
