When Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek play in the final at Wimbledon.

Waiting for the closing event of the season’s third Slam, the men’s tournament final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz scheduled for Sunday, Wimbledon is gearing up for the final act of the women’s tournament, which will feature Amanda Anisimova, number 13 in the seeding, and Iga Swiatek, this year’s No. 8 seed on Saturday afternoon, July 12.
The Russian-born U.S. player, who currently occupies the 12th position in the ranking, and the Polish champion, who has risen to the fourth position in the ranking, will compete on the center court of the complex that hosts the most important event (on grass) in world tennis: the start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time, 5 p.m. in Italy.
Neither contender has ever won the final success at Wimbledon: Anisimova has never won even one other Grand Slam tournament, while Swiatek has had four successes at Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024) and one at the US Open (2022). There is no precedent on the WTA circuit between the two finalists in this edition.
To reach the final, Amanda Anisimova defeated Yulia Putintseva in the first round, Renata Zarazua in the second, Dalma Galfi in the third, Linda Noskova in the round of 16, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarters, and Aryna Sabalenka, the world No. 1, in the semifinals. Instead, Iga Swiatek beat, in’order, Polina Kudermetova, Caty McNally, Danielle Collins, Clara Tauson, Liudmila Samsonova, and Belinda Bencic.
