MLS: another double by Lionel Messi, that’s five in a row

Always and only Lionel Messi. Archived the Club World Cup, the Pulce is back to focusing only on the’MLS where he is playing at impressive levels of quality. Once again, he made the difference on the field, this time in the challenge won by the’Inter Miami over Nashville: 2-1 the final.
The Argentine scored both of Inter Miami’s goals, reaching a season-high 16 goals (tied with Nashville player Sam Surridge). Lionel Messi opened the scoring with a perfect free kick of his own. Yet another gem from a firm ball, one of his great specialties.
It was the 69th goal from a free kick in the Pulce’s career, the sixth since he has worn the Inter Miami jersey. It also set a new record: five consecutive games with more than one goal on goal.
The record is a new one.
A record streak that reminded fans of the record achieved by Lionel Messi when he played for Barcelona when he managed to score more than one goal per game for as many as six consecutive rounds (2012). Despite his no-longer-green age (38), the Argentine continues to deliver magic and ring up records that it is unlikely anyone will ever be able to beat in the future. Inter Miami fans enjoy him, knowing that, arguably, someone of his level is practically an absolute rarity.
