Guglielmo Caruso starts again in Naples after'farewell to'Olimpia Milano

The S.S. Napoli Basket announced that it has signed a three-year agreement with Neapolitan center Guglielmo Caruso.
Born July 3, 1999, “Willy” Caruso (209 cm) started playing in Cercola, before transferring at the age of 14 to PMS Moncalieri in Turin, Italy, where he remained until 2017. During this experience he played in all youth national teams, participating in five European championships in each category and the 2017 Under-19 World Championships where he won the silver medal. In the 2017/18 season, he played in Naples in Serie A2 and the following summer moved to the U.S. to play at Santa Clara University in California with the Broncos for three seasons.
In the 2019/20 season, he scored 9.7 points and averaged 4.4 rebounds. In 2020/21, he averaged 9.3 points with 4.8 rebounds in 22.6 minutes of usage. His record is 25 points scored against San Jose State. In 2021, he returned to play in Italy at Varese for two seasons. In the first he played 19 games with 3.8 points and 2.6 rebounds averaged in 9.4 minutes, while in the second, he played 30 out of 30 games with 9.2 points per contest, 3.8 rebounds and most importantly he had 67.1% in two-point shooting and 40.6% in three-point shooting. In the 2023-24 season his transfer to Olimpia Milano where he won a scudetto and an Italian Supercup while also collecting appearances and minutes in the Euroleague.
Guglielmo Caruso plays steadily in the Italian national team where he made his debut against Spain on Feb. 26, 2023, scoring 19 points. With Pozzecco’s national team he played in the 2025 European Championship qualifiers. In his career with youth national teams, he also won a European bronze medal with the Under-18s and at the 2019 Under-20 European Championships, scored 13.4 points and captured 7.1 rebounds on average.
