Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games medals unveiled

At the Palazzo Balbi in Venice, the Organizing Committee of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games unveiled the medals of Milano Cortina 2026 together with two Italian sports legends Federica Pellegrini and Francesca Porcellato.
The event was attended by the Italian Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Organizing Committee.
In addition to the host Luca Zaia, Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation President Giovanni Malagò and its CEO Andrea Varnier, Council Vice-President and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, Lombardy Region President Attilio Fontana, CONI President Luciano Buonfiglio and CIP President Marco Giunio De Sanctis attended the event.
The Milan-Cortina 2026 medals will have an essential design, focusing on emotions and teamwork, and symbolizing the union of not only two cities, Milan and Cortina, but also the soul of victory and the efforts to win it. Two halves united by Olympic and Paralympic values. Two dimensions that represent the crowning achievement of the athlete’s journey and all the people who supported him to achieve it. A concept that becomes a powerful metaphor to narrate the’union of different worlds that recognize themselves as similar in the spirit of the Olympics and Paralympics: a world where competition does not divide, but unites.
“The Milan Cortina 2026 medals are more than just awards: they are the heartbeat of the Italian heart, the essence of design that excites, the reflection of a dream taking shape. They encapsulate the identity of a country, its creativity, its passion for sports and beauty – said Giovanni Malagò, president of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation -. Every medal, Olympic or Paralympic, is a story engraved in metal: it speaks of the hard work, determination, sacrifices and hopes of those who have lived to reach the podium. But it also tells the story of an Italy that believes in the most authentic values of sport. Those who win it will not only carry with them the tribute of victory, but also a living fragment of the Italian spirit, an eternal symbol of what we are capable of dreaming and achieving together”.
The medals are produced by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS), a company wholly owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
