Backlash in Spain, newly promoted A team does not register

Clamorous twist in Spain. The deadline given by the ACB to Real Betis Baloncesto to submit the necessary documentation and meet the requirements to be able to formalize, in the competent venues, the promotion to the Liga Endesa that the green-and-white formation had earned on the court has expired.
The disappointment of Betis is the joy of Covirán Granada, which was relegated but will now retain its place in the top tier of Spanish basketball.
It was the Granada media that first broke the news of the city team’s stay in the ACB, after some sources in Seville confirmed that Real Betis would fail to meet all the requirements to certify promotion.
Betis will be the first club not to be able to ascend to the ACB since the conditions that, for years, had made the competition a kind of almost closed league were loosened. Now it will be up to Granada to prove its financial strength to stay in the ACB. All indications are that it will have no problem for the Assembly to approve its reinstatement in the league.
