NBA to 32 franchises: Adam Silver relies on a commission

The’NBA is always looking for ways to increase its revenue and become more global. In addition to the NBA Europe project, the possibility of adding two franchises to the 30 that are currently part of the world’s most important basketball league is also being considered.
In order to evaluate every aspect of this possible increase in NBA teams, Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, has let it be known that there will be a committee that will specifically look into the matter, so as to begin to understand the feasibility of the’operation.
Specifically, two league offices will be working, jointly, on the project. Then, once the data has been analyzed, they will eventually move on to the next phase, which is to talk to the current owners of the 30 NBA franchises.
“This is the first step in this process. It is still early to do any other kind of thinking. First we will have to wait for the results of this analysis”, the words of Adam Silver himself reported by ESPN.
The last expansion made official by the NBA was in 2004, when the league added a franchise in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of the goals would be to bring a team back to Seattle, a city with a great hunger for basketball. There are also rumors of the possibility that Las Vegas, another city that can offer a great deal, as its recent involvement in Formula 1 has confirmed.
