Virtus Bologna has made official a new reinforcement ahead of next season: former Trento man Saliou Niang. The Italian winger, after exercising the exit clause from his contract with Trento last July 15, and after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers at the last 2025 NBA Draft as the 58th overall pick, has bound himself to the Black Wolves with a two-year deal.

“I am very happy to have arrived in Bologna, in a club like Virtus. Starting this new experience means so much to me and I am looking forward to doing it with my new fans“ said Niang.

Satisfied general manager Paolo Ronchi: “Saliou represents a story of talent, sacrifice and passion. A steady growth in a club that has vision and results like Trento, up to the call to the NBA draft from Cleveland. We are happy to welcome him now to Virtus and consider him an ideal player on the new roster for athletic gifts, ability to play multiple roles and age”.
