Scott McTominay, new chapter on'horizon: the Scot speaks out
Reduced from his best season in his career, with the title of best player in the 2024-2025 Serie A added to the Scudetto he won with the Napoli jersey, Scott McTominay is ready to kick off the second chapter of his Parthenopean adventure. Speaking to ‘Radio CRC’, the Scot explained that he does not intend to lower his game, knowing that there will be many who will want to peel the Scudetto from the uniforms of the Napoli.
“Settling in Serie A – explained McTominay – was easy thanks to mister Conte and my teammates, who have been great to me from the moment I arrived. I just wanted to work as hard as I could, get as fit as I could and show my qualities on the field. It is not only a speech for the past season, but it also applies to the one that has started now: new chapter and new players, I can’t wait”.
“The credit for the Scudetto belongs to the team, the coach, but most of all to the fans: they were the 12th man throughout the season, they were there in good times and bad. Even when we had difficult moments they helped us. Now it is time to work hard: it will be a long season with many games and this initial phase is crucial, also to create chemistry between us”.
A class of 1996, Scott McTominay arrived at Napoli in the closing days of the 2024 summer market: immediately settling in the shadow of Vesuvius, he starred in a 12-goal season in 34 Serie a games, to which he added a goal in 2 appearances in the Coppa Italia. The Scot was also important in the assist zone, contributing 6 decisive passes in the triumphant 2024-2025 season.
