A colossus for the'Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù

A real colossus for Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù, which continues its strengthening work in view of the upcoming season: the newly promoted Brianza team has announced that it has signed Oumar Ballo, a 213 cm and 118 kg center, for the upcoming sports season. Born on July 13, 2002, in Koulikoro, Mali, the new white-blue on the court exploits his physical characteristics to impose himself in the pitturato with an explosive style of play, asserting his presence on offense and defense. After a top-notch collegiate career, Ballo chose Cantù to start his career in Europe.
“I am very happy to have made this choice,” said Oumar. “When I decided to start my European experience, Cantù seemed like the best team I could aspire to. Meeting with coach Brienza and Santoro impressed me positively and I can’t wait to start this new adventure. We want to take satisfaction from it. I know the Italian league is difficult, but we will fight together for all of Cantù”.
“Ballo is a player of great quality and perspective, it was not easy to secure him – the words of Brianza coach Nicola Brienza – He has the potential to make a great career, both in Europe and in the NBA, but we are absolutely convinced that he can be a factor right away. With him we are going to close a long package that becomes very complete, with players who have complementary characteristics, so I look forward to working in the gym with all the guys”.
“Oumar is first of all a guy with an extraordinary sensibility and he was looking for a club with a marked family atmosphere,” added Canturino general manager Alessandro Santoro. “In the meeting we had in Las Vegas with his agents, we were able to transfer to him the maximum positive feelings. As a player, he has the characteristics we were looking for, taking into account that in the American market there are athletes as good as him, but without European experience, and others less talented but with more experience on our continent. We preferred to bet on him because he is a very good player and of great impact. He will gain experience with us and we will take satisfaction”.
