Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz destroyed: "He better stop for a while'"

Carlos Alcaraz’s feeling of helplessness in the Wimbledon final against Jannik Sinner seemed evident, and many are questioning what the Murcia tennis player needs to do now to close the gap with the world number one. Even former world number two Alex Corretja wanted to give advice to his compatriot on what he needs to do ahead of upcoming engagements: stop and rest.
“It’s important to give Carlos some rest, ahead of the’last Slam of the year and the final phase of the season”, he said in an interview with Eurosport.
According to Corretja, Alcaraz needs to stop a few weeks and regroup after the beating: “I never interfere with the schedule that my good friend Juan Carlos Ferrero decides with the player, but I just hope he doesn’t go to Toronto. I say this with all the affection and respect I have for the Canadian tournament. They really should think about it, because in the second half of the season he sometimes loses a little bit’of energy”.
“I say this because I think Carlos needs to recover from all that fatigue now. We are not talking about winning or losing the Wimbledon final. We are talking about the fact that he has been in London for a month, that he won the Queen’s. All this has consequences, now there’s another change of surface, the flight across the Atlantic. It is all very tiring”.
