Napoli&#8217s new midfielder Kevin De Bruyne introduced himself today in Dimaro in his first press conference in Azzurri: “Naples, as far as competitiveness is concerned, is the best place for me to show my qualities. Napoli is champion of Italy and it changes a lot here compared to England, but this also makes me excited. I have desire and quality to be competitive at this level. When sports director Manna came to show me the project I was thrilled, I think Napoli was the best choice for me”.

“Here in Naples – added De Bruyne – it changes a lot compared to my habits at Manchester City. It is a new experience at a high level, and I am excited about it. I spent a lifetime in the Premier, I will be a Man City player for life, but that experience is over and I was looking for a new challenge. This project gives me the opportunity to play at a high level, the project shown by the club shows that they want to invest here.”

“We have already made 4-5 new signings, laying the foundation for the future. I am not so young anymore, but I think I can contribute to grow the team and I will learn from the team” The Belgian stressed that “our goal is to do well on all fronts. We hope to place as high as possible in the league and have a good run. We play the Champions League, which is among the most beautiful tournaments in the world. I have played it for 10 years, I look forward to playing it with Napoli and making a good run.”

Now I know the team and coach Conte, at the beginning of the season I will be ready knowing how the team works. It is great to work with Conte. I worked with Guardiola 9 years, and before that with other very good coaches. Every coach has his own style and the best ones are phenomenal from a tactical point of view, they are a little bit’ crazy, a little bit like us players. I don&#8217t think the team is built around me. I can contribute my experience, but basically I am here to help the team grow. I will give 100 percent, there will be a lot of games and everyone”s contribution will be needed.
