Beppe Marotta back to expose himself on Hakan Calhanoglu’s future

If in the aftermath of Inter’s elimination from the Club World Cup the farewell of Hakan Calhanoglu seemed to be a foregone conclusion, also because of the statements made then by Lautaro Martinez and Beppe Marotta, days have passed and the situation seems to be rather different, so much so that this time Marotta himself, who has returned to expose himself on the subject, is far from certain of a transfer.
The situation is quite different.
Talking on the sidelines of the presentation of the new sponsor, Marotta summed up: “I would not like to create any case, we respect the boy and our own club: there is talk of phantom requests that, however, have never reached us, there’s little else to add. We are waiting for him at the gathering, and then he too has spoken clearly: he does not want to leave”.
After the knockout in the United States with Fluminense, Lautaro Martinez had called to order, as captain, those who were planning to leave: “It is necessary that those who want to do so stay here – he had said -, because we have goals and we will fight to get them. The message is clear: those who want to stay with us, stay. Those who do not want to stay, must leave”.
Marotta, on that occasion, had clarified that Lautaro was referring precisely to Calhanoglu: “At the moment Hakan has not manifested anything to us – the Nerazzurri CEO had said -, but we are ready to listen to him, just as we are ready to listen to others. A player, when he expresses the will to leave, will have the door wide open”.
