New deal on the Naples-Cagliari axis: negotiations in the details

After Gianluca Gaetano and Elia Caprile, another footballer is ready to pack his bags to move from Naples to Cagliari: he is Michael Folorunsho, class 1998, who, according to reports from ‘L’Unione Sarda’ has accepted the transfer proposal and will become a Rossoblù footballer after the 2024-2025 season spent partly at Napoli and partly, on loan, at Fiorentina.
Folorunsho will arrive in Sardinia on loan until the end of the 2025-2026 season, with the right of redemption exercisable by paying 8 million euros. The signing is expected to come after medical examinations, which will be carried out this week. Folorunsho thus continues his adventure in Serie A after experiences at Verona, Napoli and Fiorentina.
Born in Rome on Feb. 7, 1998, to parents of Nigerian descent, Folorunsho grew up in the youth sectors of Vigor Perconti, Tor Sapienza, Savio and Lazio, before playing, at senior level, with the jerseys of Virtus Francavilla, Bari, Reggina, Pordenone, Reggina again, Bari again, Hellas Verona, Napoli and Fiorentina, before returning to Napoli on July 1.
Cagliari will face two important friendlies in the coming days: on Wednesday, July 23, at 7:30 p.m., in Linz, the men coached by Fabio Pisacane will take on Turkish champions Galatasaray, while on Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m., they will travel to Germany to face Hannover at the home of the club that finished last year’s 2nd Bundesliga in ninth place.
