Virtus Bologna: Dusko Ivanovic still lacks a long

The revolution in Virtus Bologna was tangible. The Champion of Italy roster has been turned upside down. Many have packed their bags, first and foremost Toto Shengelia, others have retired (Marco Belinelli, ready for a role in society) and there’s also those who have been forced to stop for personal issues, such as Achille Polonara.

To complete the roster there is still one piece missing. Dusko Ivanovic, confirmed at the helm of the Black Vs, is waiting for the’last long to complete the department.

Three profiles would appear to be followed by Virtus Bologna management. In pole position would be Charles Bassey. Class of 2000, 206 cm, the Nigerian has significant experience in the NBA where he wore the jackets of 76ers and Spurs. The problem is his physical condition. He has had to deal with several problems in the last two years.

There would be no shortage of alternatives. Look out for Mike Daum. The former Trieste man, after only one season at Red Star, is looking for a new sporting challenge and Virtus Bologna could be an excellent chance to relaunch himself. Finally, there would also be another papabile. At the moment, his identity is not yet known but he seems to have a history in the Euroleague. Dismissed, however, was the track leading to Trevion Williams. He has signed with Bahçeşehir Koleji.
