Evan Ferguson, Roma formalizes arrival of its first Irishman

Roma has announced the purchase of Evan Ferguson from Brighton & Hove Albion. The deal was concluded on loan with a right of redemption.

Born in Bettystown on Oct. 19, 2004, Ferguson is the first Irish footballer in Roma history. He grew up in Bohemian FC and was transferred to Brighton in the Premier League in 2021. In January 2025 he went on loan to West Ham.

With the Ireland senior national team, he made his debut in November 2022 and has scored 4 goals in 18 appearances so far. Between club and national team, he has collected a total of 103 appearances and 21 goals. Ferguson has chosen the number 11 jersey.
