In his Mig Babol podcast, former rider Andrea Migno hosted Jorge Lorenzo, a three-time world champion in MotoGP and two in 250. The 38-year-old Spaniard from Mallorca touched on many topics, starting with his rivalry with Valentino Rossi when they were teammates in Yamaha.

“At the time, when we were riders, there was total tension, because we were hyper competitive. We were two two roosters, two stars, very proud, we thought we were the best, nobody put themselves down, so it was difficult. Same bike, same team, whoever won was the best, so it was difficult. Already when he went to Ducati our relationship improved, because we were far apart. When we stopped there was no more need for us to be the rooster in the henhouse”.

“Today I cannot say that we are we are friends, however, we have a cordial relationship, he invited me, for example, to the ranch It was a lot of fun. They left me a bike they had without training me and it was difficult because it is a long and complicated track and if you don&#8217t train every day it&#8217s difficult, however the important thing was to have fun”.

Then Lorenzo moved on to talk about some of his opponents, first and foremost Daniel Pedrosa: “His strong point was the pickup that was extremely sensitive clean, so in conditions of little rain or precarious grip, he was very strong. He has tremendous merit because no rider of 50 kg and his stature has done what he did in MotoGP. But he was very weak in braking because of his lack of strength and stature, which did not help him in braking and changing directions. He was so small, his bones were weak and when he fell they would split”.

.

So the Spaniard also has high praise for Casey Stoner: “He was the one with the most instincts, the most talent, he understood immediately the limits of the track. If the races were done without free practice he would have won them all. He always understood the limit in every situation, in every circuit, he did it before everyone. In the first free practice he was always two seconds ahead, but then we would slowly catch him up”.

Finally, a judgment on the two great protagonists of today’s MotoGP, starting with Marc Marquez, who had already been a rival of his, and ending with Pecco Bagnaia: “Marc is a talent of nature, also physically very strong. Great physique, great reflexes, very good at taking off, he takes off very late in the left turns, he uses the frano very little. The weakness is what made him so strong: he has no fear. Sometimes he has too much ambition, and in the past he has made mistakes that cost him serious injuries because of that ambition to always win”.

“I like Bagnaia because he does not give up. I like him and I defend him, also because a little bit’ like me. He is perfect rider he needs everything is in order, he needs the bike to be very stable and have a lot of grid ahead. So if he doesn&#8217t find this this feeling he suffers more than a Stoner and a Marquez”.
