Milan, Emerson Royal’s sale is a case: domino effect also involves Roma

When everything seemed ready for the transfer of Emerson Royal, on loan, from AC Milan to Besiktas, on the Italian night between Wednesday and Thursday came from Brazil a sensational twist: Flamengo has in fact overtaken the Turkish club in the preferences of the player and is ready to sink the blow by triggering a domino effect that, among other things, also involves Roma.

As reported by ‘Sky Sport‘, the Brazilian flanker’s transfer will take place, but not to Turkey and not on loan: Flamengo is willing to pay 10 million euros immediately for the outright purchase, a solution that would allow Milan to close the relationship with Emerson Royal, without having to think further about his accommodation in 2026.

Emerson Royal’s arrival at Flamengo would allow the Rio de Janeiro-based Rossoneri to reopen the negotiation with Roma for Wesley, a deal that seemed to have almost fizzled out in recent days. At the same time, however, Besiktas themselves would return to the search for a full-back and, as reported by the Turkish portal ‘Yeni Açik’, would be interested precisely in a Giallorossi side, Devyne Rensch.

What is certain is that Emerson Royal will leave Milan after only one season, in which the Brazilian failed to impose himself as the Rossoneri club, which had taken him from Tottenham in exchange for 15 million euros, would have liked. The 1999-class side, barring any other sensational twists and turns, will therefore return to Brazil, where he had worn the jerseys of Ponte Preta and Atletico Mineiro before his January 2019 landing in Europe, where he played with Betis, Barcelona, and Tottenham before his experience at AC Milan.
