Luciano Darderi doesn’t stop any longer: he is in the final in Umag

Luciano Darderi, world number 46, in the Croatian Open on the clay of Umag reaches his second consecutive final after the one in Baastad last week beating with the score of 7-6 6-3 the Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli, number 51.
The first set without even a break point and only two games arrived in the advantages, the third and the fifth, both won by Carabelli.
First set without a single break ball and with only two games coming to the advantages, the third and the fifth, both won by Carabelli, who then in the tie-break has a set point at 6-5 but here Darderi threads three consecutive points winning the partial.
Carabelli has to save three break balls in the second game of the second set, the first two consecutive, but eventually in the fourth game he has to concede. On 4-2 it is Darderi who saves his first break points, two, on 5-3 instead he concedes nothing and closes the match after an hour and 45 minutes of play.
Carabelli’s first break point is the first to be saved.
For Darderi it is his fourth career final, the third this year, and he is seeking success for the second consecutive week after his triumph in Baastad last Sunday. His other three finals, all on clay, he has won them all. His opponent will be the winner between Spain’s Carlos Taberner, number 111, and Bosnia’s Damir Dzumhur, number 61.
