Respect, but no surrender. Taylor Fritz, a finalist at the Us Open 2024, is ready to have his say at Flushing Meadows and is not resigned to the Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz duopoly, indeed: “Under the right conditions, such as with a fast enough court, I think they are both beatable,” is the glimmer the American tennis player sees.

Fritz, who made it all the way to the semifinals at Wimbledon, feels confident in his means: “With Alcaraz there was a very tight match at Wimbledon, but there’s no question that he and Sinner are doing better than the rest of the circuit, I think a lot depends on the conditions, though.”

“With the right conditions, if they are not on their best day, if you win the important points, or you have a very good day on serve and they are a little bit off, they are very beatable,” Fritz explained.

“If, on the other hand, you want to ask me if they are beatable on their best day, then it’s a little bit different…,” Fritz said at a press conference in Toronto, where he comes in as the top-ranked tennis player along with Alexander Zverev.
