Another forfeit for Matteo Berrettini: the ’azzurro – as reported by the Sky Sports website – will also skip the Cincinnati Masters 1000, scheduled from August 7 to 18 next.
There is still no official communication regarding the reasons for this withdrawal, but in fact this is the fourth consecutive forfeit for Berrettini: Gstaad, Kitzbuhel, Toronto and now Cincinnati is added (the’azzurro in fact no longer appears in the list of participants).
The Roman tennis player had returned to Wimbledon in late June after the Rome injury (to the abdomen) but exiting in the first round. After Wimbledon came four consecutive forfeits for Berrettini, who dropped out of the top 50.
