Jannik Sinner lends a hand to Matteo Berrettini, twist of fate in Monte Carlo

Jannik Sinner continues his preparation in Monte Carlo ahead of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 and the start of the cement season, which will peak at the Us Open in late August. L’Azzurro has been training on the Principality’s courts along with friend and colleague Matteo Berrettini, who has returned to the court after muscle trouble.

The magical Davis Cup pair has surprisingly reassembled, and Italian fans are rejoicing especially for the Roman tennis player, who finally seemed serene and at ease after the troubles of recent weeks, so much so that he announced his forfeit for Cincinnati as well.

It was Berrettini who spread the photo with the world number one on Instagram: “Step by step with the best” wrote Matteo confidently. Sinner could play an important role in the recovery of the 2021 Wimbledon finalist, still searching for the best condition after the series of physical problems.

No early retirement then for Berrettini, ready to try again to get back to the top: and with Sinner lending a hand, the climb back up could be smoother than expected.
