Max Verstappen put to rest any rumors about his future. “I never said anything about it because I was focused with the team on how to improve our performance and some ideas for next year– the Dutchman told the media present in Hungary -, and that is why I had nothing to add. But I think it is time to put an end to all these rumors, it has always been quite clear to me that I would stay where I am”.

“The team and I talk very often about the solutions we can apply to the single-seater (2026) – added the four-time world champion – and if you are not interested in staying with the team you normally stop talking about these kinds of issues, and I never did”.

“No one really knows what will be the values on the field that we will see in 2026: for us this year it is realistically very difficult to fight against McLaren– the Dutchman later admitted -, I think it is already difficult enough to compete with Ferrari and Mercedes. But we will have opportunities to learn more about the car and its behavior”.

“We know very well that the cars we will see on the track in 2026 will be different, but there are engineering solutions that can be evaluated already this season and then decide whether or not to implement them on next year” concluded the Red Bull driver.
