Toto Wolff knows what is happening to Lewis Hamilton
The number 1 of the Mercedes Formula 1 team Toto Wolff has won everything thanks to Lewis Hamilton and therefore knows him perhaps better than anyone else.
Who better than ,him to express an opinion on what is happening to the seven-time world champion, since this year at Ferrari, with very modest results when compared to his palmares? Here are Wolff’s words.
“Lewis is the greatest of all time, no one will take away from him what he has done. A weekend or a season that doesn’t go his way doesn’t change that.”
“What is happening to him? When he feels he doesn’t live up to his expectations, or that the team hasn’t met its goals, then he blames the situation a lot. It has always been like that”.
“No, Lewis is not thinking about retirement: he has a score to settle with Formula 1. Mercedes has not been doing well with these new regulations, and he himself has not been happy with the ground effect single-seaters.”
“The current cars cause him negative feelings and penalize his driving style. He can redeem himself next year, when the cars will be completely new and will require different and more strategic power management”.
