“There is nothing I can add to make her feel better.”

Interviewed by GQ-both he and Carlos Sainz will be in the September issue-Charles Leclerc recounted his impact with the Ferrari world during a report called “Red Hot.” In addition to reminiscing about the day of his first visit to the Rossa’s headquarters, the Monegasque went into the specifics of some family dynamics. And of his relationship with his mother, who has always been concerned about the ‘dangerous’ job chosen by her son.

“I sat in the parking lot for two hours” – Leclerc’s words in reference to the first occasion he visited, without being able to enter, Maranello – “and tried to guess what was going on in there. I imagined it like in the movie ‘The Chocolate Factory,’ with the Oompa Loompas around,” he recounted.

“My mother’s concern about the work I do is great, but I don’t know what to tell her. Other than the fact that I love my job. There is nothing in particular I can add to make her feel better. I will never tell her that I will be careful. That would be a falsehood. In any case I do and will do my best. She knows this well: it is a dangerous sport. Over the years it has become much safer, but it will always remain an activity where risk exists. But she knows that I am the happiest man in the world when I am in the car,” he concluded.
