Red Bull, after Honda. no one: the historic announcement

Red Bull is moving to a new phase in its history. After the years of the world championships with Renault engines, and the recent victories with Honda, the Austrian team will in fact do it on its own in the future.
The announcement is official and comes directly from the stable that launched first Sebastian Vettel and then Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen into the hyperuranium of Formula 1. The stable, in fact, from 2025 will produce its own engines in house.
That will in fact be the year of the entry into force of the new power unit regulations. And for that date the Milton Keynes team will rely on the newly formed Red Bull Powertrains department.
The person in charge, moreover, will be a decidedly established motorist, such as Ben Hodgkinson. For him, the resume speaks for itself: in fact, he comes from that Mercedes which has dominated Formula 1 since 2014, thanks in part to a clear dominance in the era of turbo-hybrid engines.
“We are delighted to welcome Ben,” explained Chris Horner, Red Bull team principal. “He will face this new challenge in the knowledge that he has already won a lot. He has agreed to lead this exciting project, with which Red Bull will put its entire destiny in its own hands.”
Until 2025, Red Bull will remain tied to Honda (which has already announced its withdrawal from Formula 1), taking advantage of frozen regulations precisely in the area of engines and power units.
