Fall at Tour of Poland for Filippo Baroncini, he is in hospital

There is no good news about the health condition of Filippo Baroncini, 24, from Massa Lombarda, who crashed yesterday during the third stage of the Tour of Poland. Baroncini’s team, the UAE Emirates XRG, released a note reporting the words of company doctor Adriano Rotunno.

“Unfortunately, Baroncini – Rotunno’s words -, was injured in a crash in the third stage of the Tour of Poland. He suffered several facial injuries, including a fracture of the cervical vertebra, without neurological consequences, and facial and clavicular fractures. He is currently hospitalized and is under the supervision of our medical team”.

There are no predictions on the return to competitive activity of the’former under-23 world champion, a title won by Baroncini in 2021 in Leuven, Belgium, the nation where the Romagnolo teammate of Tadej Pogacar captured his greatest successes, the Super 8 Classic in 2024 and the Tour of Belgium a month and a half ago.
