A satisfied and proud Carlo Calcagni commented on the convocation he received from FISPES to represent Italy at the World Paralympic Athletics Championships, which will be held in New Delhi, India, from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5.

“It is always a great honor for me to represent Italy – said the Colonel -. To take to the track with the blue jersey is not just a sporting achievement: it is an extraordinary privilege, it is the recognition of a path made of sacrifices, struggle, sweat and love for sport. And it is even more so for those who, like me, have chosen never to give up.”

“I will proudly participate in the 100- and 400-meter T72, specialties in which I will defend the world title and world records,” the champion continued. “But beyond the result, what really matters is the’honor of representing my nation, bringing to the track the values of life, resilience and justice.”

“I thank FISPES for the trust, and as always, I promise one thing: I will give it my all. Until my last breath. Never give up, despite everything and everyone, whatever it takes,” Calcagni’s conclusion.
