The new very rich soccer season on Sky Sport starts on Wednesday, August 13, with the three UEFA Cups presented in the original Sky campaign with Paolo Sorrentino on air from tomorrow and more than 2,000 matches for over 4,000 hours of live coverage, 580 of these dedicated to studies and in-depth reports. On Sky as at the cinema: from major Italian championships to international ones, from women’s soccer to European qualifiers to the FIFA World Cup 2026, and even the spectacle of the European Cups. Although the UEFA Champions League movie cannot be written: it simply happens. That’s what Paolo Sorrentino explains to Fabio Caressa in the new Sky campaign that will launch the return of the three European Cups tomorrow. Under the spotlights of an evocative deserted San Siro and at night, the famous director and Sky’s voice of soccer interpret and bring to life an original scene that fuels the dream and the anticipation, under the sign of unpredictability.
The campaign will be launched on Wednesday, August 13.
And just on Wednesday, August 13, opening the doors of the new 2025/2026 season will be the European Super Cup between PSG and Tottenham staged at the Friuli Stadium in Udine, from 9 p.m. exclusively on Sky and NOW. It is the first major event out of 11 months of great nonstop soccer told by the Sky Sport team: coming up the championship the Serie A Enilive kicking off on Saturday, August 23 – three matches out of ten per day in the evening slots, the big matches with at least 30 of the best 76 league matches including four direct clashes between the biggies, with pre and post-match studies of all ten matches of each round – the Sky Wifi Serie C (from 22/08) and the big international leagues: starting with the novelty of the return of French Ligue 1 from 15/08, the same start date as the English Premier League (exclusive on Sky until 2028). From 22/08, the start of the German Bundesliga, just confirmed on Sky exclusively until 2029 (with the German Cup starting on 15/08 and the Super Cup scheduled for 16/08).
All this while waiting for the big European nights, starting with the UEFA Champions League, which from next September 16 will kick off with four Italians on the field after the play-off preliminaries scheduled on Sky on August 19/20 and 26/27. As many as 185 of the 203 matches in Europe’s top competition will be exclusively broadcast on Sky and streamed only on NOW for every season until 2026/2027, and thanks to Diretta Gol, all UEFA Europa League (from 24/09) and UEFA Conference League (from 2/10) matches will also be exclusively broadcast.
