La Liga 2025-2026: Villarreal-Oviedo, the probable formations

Liga starts again this weekend and, as predicted, the main favorites for the title remain Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. But among the possible outsiders is also Villarreal, a club with a great tradition and fresh from a rather eventful summer market.

The Yellow Submarine has reinforced the roster with weighty grafts, starting with Thomas Partey, for years a pillar of Arsenal. There has been no shortage of signings from Serie A: Buchanan from Inter Milan and Rafa Marin from Napoli are ready to contribute.

At Cerámica comes Oviedo, one of the three newly promoted teams along with Elche and Levante. While for the other two the return to La Liga has been frequent in recent years, for the Asturian club it is the end of a 24-year wait. A goal achieved also thanks to Santi Cazorla, the team’s flag and soul, who turned out to be decisive in the promotion ride.
