In Cincinnati it is the day of the men&#8217s tournament final, which will see one against the other the two strongest players of the moment, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. It is another important chapter in the rivalry between the Italian and the Murcian, who have also met in the finals this year in Rome and Paris on clay, as well as Wimbledon on grass.

The match, which will be staged at the P&G Centre Court, the center court of the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, a few miles from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, will kick off at 9 p.m. Italian time, or 3 p.m. local: a time confirmed by organizers to favor European fans, despite concerns about the great heat that is sweeping the Midwestern United States.

To reach the finals, Jannik Sinner defeated Daniel Elahi Galan 6-1, 6-1, Gabriel Diallo 6-2, 7-6(6), Adrian Mannarino 6-4, 7-6(4), Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2 and Terence Atmane 7-6(4), 6-2. Carlos Alcaraz, on the other hand, beat in’order Damir Dzumhur 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, Hamad Medjedovic 6-4, 6-4, Luca Nardi 6-1, 6-4, Andrey Rublev 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 and Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-3.

Sinner and Alcaraz have faced each other a total of 14 times (13 on the major circuit): Alcaraz has won 9 previous matches, including the only one at the ATP Challenger level in 2019, while Sinner has won 5: this year the balance is two wins to one for Alcaraz, but the last previous one saw Sinner smile in the prestigious setting of the Wimbledon tournament.
