Carlos Alcaraz spoke at the Us Open media day: “This time I had completely free days, time to recharge and rest. I trained at home for two weeks after Wimbledon, and it was good for me. I arrived in Cincinnati, where I won, and here I am much happier and better prepared than last year, when I had arrived after the disappointment of the Olympics.”

Inevitable questions about Jannik Sinner: “The respect we have and our great relationship off the court make our rivalry special, and the public feels that. Every time we play, we raise the bar to the highest level. It is rare to find such a strong balance between friendship and rivalry. Jannik has won the last three Slams on concrete, he has an incredible level. I hope to face him in the final, and he must know that he has a big target on his back…”.

His first opponent will be Reilly Opelka: “It will be difficult to play against him, everyone knows his serve. I have to be ready, focused on the response, trying to find my rhythm. I feel good, with the court and also with the balls, so I am confident”.
