Valtur Brindisi is set to sign Andrea Cinciarini, former Olimpia Milano captain, to replace Blake Francis, who will undergo surgery on his fractured hand on Thursday. Recovery is estimated at least 10 weeks.

According to Pianetabasket, the deal with the 39-year-old point guard is practically done. Unable to sign non-EU players, Valtur has decided to strengthen the Italian group with Cinciarini’s experience.

Bred in Vuelle Pesaro, Andrea Cinciarini made his Serie A debut in 2003: in his palmares two scudetti with Olimpia (2016 and 2018), three Italian Cups, four Supercups and a Eurochallenge won with Reggio Emilia in 2013/14. He has played 105 games in the Euroleague and 130 with the Italian national team, of which he was a member until 2019.

Last season he played in Scafati, now he seemed destined to return to Pesaro: the desire to finish his career where he started it seems to be the last obstacle for the Apulian white and blue… who but around 4 p.m. they announced his signing
