The fourth and final day of the Dormy Open provided strong emotions on the Swedish course in Uppsala. Coming out on top, at the end of a high-intensity duel, was Denmark’s Anders Emil Ejlersen, who thus won his first title in the second division of the European circuit, the HotelPlanner Tour.

In the lead after 54 holes, Ejlersen coolly resisted the comeback attempt of Iceland’s Haraldur Magnus, the absolute star of the day with a stellar 60-shot card, the best of the tournament. A perfect round: five birdies in the front nine, six in the back nine, and zero errors. A record-breaking performance that, however, was not enough to snatch the victory from him.

Ejlersen, 26, responded shot by shot, netting nine birdies, including three consecutive between the 15th and 17th, and closing with a score of 65, enough to seal the tournament with a total of -24. A bogey on 18 did not change the substance: the Dane lifted his first trophy in the pros to the sky with a smile full of amazement.

“My heart is beating so fast, it’s a crazy feeling – he said excitedly -. I didn’t sleep well yesterday, I just wanted to wake up and play. But as soon as I arrived, all the tension disappeared. It felt like a normal game. Now everything is surreal, as if it lasted only two hours. I want to enjoy every second of this moment”.
