Reduced from seven consecutive weekends finished first in both Saturday’s Sprint and Sunday’s race, Marc Marquez is approaching his home race with great optimism, the one that will be run on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, near the Catalan capital, on the first weekend of September.

.

It is, however, a track not exactly in the ropes of Marquez, as the same leader of the world has been keen to reiterate with brutal sincerity: “I like Montmelo because it is my home track, but I would not like it if it were not – are the words collected by ‘Motorsport.com’ -. If the circuit was on the’other side of the world, it would be the’last one I would go to”.

The official Ducati team rider specified, however, that he appreciates the circuit&#8217s atmosphere and the cheering he gets every year. The current World Championship leader’s last win in Barcelona was in 2019 while last year, riding Team Gresini&#8217s Desmosedici, he finished second in the Sprint and third in the long race.

The Ducati factory team rider specified that he enjoys the atmosphere and the cheers he gets every year.

With eight weekends still to go, the championship certainly cannot be said to be closed, although Marc Marquez has accumulated an impressive lead over his immediate pursuers in the standings: behind his 455 points are the 280 of his brother Alex and the 228 of a Pecco Bagnaia seemed in great difficulty in the last few races, but eager for revenge.
