The journey of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini at the US Open continues, without a hitch. The fantastic Italian pair beat, in the quarterfinals of the women’s doubles, the duo formed by the American Muhammad and the Dutch Schuurs, winning the pass to the semifinals and confirming that they are indeed a duo capable of playing at the highest level.

The Blue Women, Olympic gold medalist in Paris 2024 and number 2 seed on the scoreboard, won the first set comfortably (6-1). In the second set, a lot of balance on the court but, in the end, success went to the Italian duo who took home the tie-break 7-5.

Thanks to this success, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini will challenge, for a place in the final, the pair Dabrowski-Routlifee, number three seed in the tournament and opponents of a completely different level than those faced, so far, by the Italian tennis players. It should be noted that for the two blues this is the third Slam semifinal of their doubles careers. Specifically, the first semifinal at the US Open.

On the other side of the scoreboard, Venus Williams (paired with Canadian Leylah Fernandez) lost to the Townsend-Siniakova duo, the No. 1 seed on the scoreboard (6-1, 6-2 the match partials). At the end of the match, the audience gave a touching standing ovation to Venus Williams, perhaps in her last match on the concrete at the US Open.
