Something has come up for Gennaro Gattuso. Indeed, the new national team coach will have to do without Gianluca Scamacca for the two matches in Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and Israel.

The Atalanta striker left the Coverciano training camp in the morning as he has not yet fully recovered from the knee collateral injury. Scamacca will therefore not be available for Italy&#8217s next two commitments.

The Azzurri will leave in the afternoon for Bergamo, where on Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. at the Bergamo Stadium they will take on Estonia, which is paired with the national team in third place with 3 points in Group I, led by Norway, first with 12 points.

The second place in Group I is occupied by Israel, which Gattuso&#8217s men will face on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 8:45 p.m. on the neutral field of the ‘Nagyerdei Stadion’ in Debrecen, Hungary.
