In the aftermath of Giorgio Armani’s passing, heartfelt messages continue to pour in from people who also knew him in the world of sports: among them is Kyle Hines, who tied the last part of his basketball career to Olimpia Milano, of which Armani was the patron, as well as main sponsor, since 2008.
“It was one of the greatest honors of my career to represent Olimpia Milano and proudly wear your name – Hines wrote on his Instagram profile -. Playing for your club was not just about basketball: it meant being part of a family and carrying on a’legacy that you built with vision, passion and care”.
“You were always kind to me and my family, you made us feel at home from day one– added the three-time champion d’Italia with the Red Shoes.”
Those moments of generosity, the respect you showed and the pride you conveyed to everyone who was part of your club will never be forgotten”.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a small part of your incredible story. Your impact will live on far beyond the game and your legacy will continue to inspire us” then concluded Hines, who played for four seasons in Milan, winning, in addition to three Scudetti, two editions of the Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa.
