When do Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic play at the U.S. Open: track record

The’Artur Ashe Stadium, the main court of the Flushing Meadows facility that hosts the U.S. Open tennis tournament, will be the scene Friday night of the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, at the end of which the name of the first finalist will be known, pending the next match between Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
The match between the current world No. 2 and the Serbian champion will begin at the end of the women’s doubles final (which will see the Siniakova/Townsend duo take on the Dabrowski/Routliffe pair) and in any case not before 9 p.m. Italian time (3 p.m. local time). The match will be visible on Sky Sports channels (via satellite and streaming) and on the SupertenniX platform.
There are eight head-to-heads between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic staged before today: the balance sees the Serb with an advantage with five wins, compared to the three obtained by the Murcian. The last direct clash dates back to the beginning of this season: in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 2025 it was Djokovic who came out on top, winning in a comeback 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
Djokovic also won the Olympic final in Paris 2024, as well as the semifinals of the 2023 ATP Finals, the Cincinnati final in the same year, and the semifinals of Roland Garros, again in 2023. Alcaraz’s successes, on the other hand, date back to the Madrid Masters 1000 semifinal in 2022, the Wimbledon 2023 final and the final, also on English grass, in 2024: this, in order of time, is the Spaniard’s last success against the former No. 1.
