Ducati team principal Davide Tardozzi spoke to Sky about Pecco Bagnaia and his difficult weekend in Catalonia. The two-time MotoGP world champion managed to recover from 21st to seventh place, but it is clear that the problems are still all there. “We changed Pecco’s swingarm to try to help him to give him more grip, he found a different rear end, he was fifth in the warm up”.

“I think seventh position starting 21st is not bad, although we expect him to fight for the podium. The ascent is a bit’ long, we are waiting for confirmations in Misano. We are convinced that Pecco can return to the speed he has shown us in the last four years, it is not the doubt we have”.

The GP25, the bike with which Bagnaia is struggling, will be the reference for the next World Championship, Tardozzi warned: “The freeze concerns the engine, we will go ahead with developments: the GP26 will be an’evolution of the GP25. In the winter Gigi and the guys will think something: in Sepang we will have a more evolved bike than now”.

General manager Gigi Dall’Igna also spoke to Sky about Bagnaia: “I am confident, I am convinced that we can do well with him before the end of the year. We used a slightly different swingarm than in previous races, it&#8217s a swingarm that everyone else uses and it&#8217s somewhat aligned with the other riders with the GP25”.
