Adrien Rabiot, first day at AC Milan: the Frenchman doesn’t mince words

At AC Milan, it is Adrien Rabiot’s day: the French midfielder, after his farewell to Olympique Marseille, has chosen to return to Massimiliano Allegri, who had already coached him at Juventus, and on Friday he presented himself to the press, answering questions about his Rossoneri ambitions and what he expects from his new experience in Italy.
“There’s great feeling with coach Allegri – said Rabiot -. At Juventus I got on well with him, we share the way we see soccer. I had already talked to him when he arrived at AC Milan, but I was linked to Marseille by a contract. Then what happened happened, I talked again with the Mister and from there the negotiation”.
Between the reasons for the farewell to Marseille there’s also the quarrel with Jonathan Rowe, who has in turn moved to Bologna: “These are locker room things that can happen – said Rabiot -. Among other things between us everything is resolved, we sent each other messages after his transfer to Bologna and wished each other the best for the future. It will be nice to see him again as early as Sunday evening”.
It wasn’t just Allegri who convinced Rabiot: “I also spoke with Maignan and with Theo Hernandez: although the latter is no longer here, he assured me that here we work well, the environment is special. For my part, I have achieved so many goals with PSG and Juventus, but I am still hungry: I want to score a lot of goals and assist, to help this team fight for the top positions and return to the Champions”.
As for Sunday’s match, the French midfielder feels ready: “The coach will decide, of course, but I feel fit and charged, it would be nice to get on the field already. What do I expect from the season? I would like to score at least 10 goals, both Allegri and De Zerbi have convinced me that I can be a prolific midfielder in the penalty area”.
