Adrien Rabiot to AC Milan: to convince him, decisive not only Max Allegri

Accounting soccer club AC Milan: Adrien Rabiot has just dressed in Rossoneri, and he has already explained that he is aiming to win the Scudetto. Not only that, because the French midfielder explained that to help him make the decision to return to Serie A there’s certainly been a dialogue with Massimiliano Allegri, who already coached him at Juventus, but also that with a compatriot like Mike Maignan.
“He, too, when the market rumors spread, called me right away to tell me to come to Milan – Rabiot told ‘DAZN’ after the press conference to present him as a new Rossoneri acquisition -. Already for a few years Maignan had been telling me to join him here, and when the hypothesis became more concrete he made himself available to me. He asked me if I needed to know anything. I have known him for years and he is a friend, at PSG we were not able to play together and I am happy to be able to do it now”.
The chapter concerning Massimiliano Allegri is also inevitable. “The coach is among those who convinced me to accept, it is true – Rabiot admitted -But it was certainly not difficult to choose AC Milan, one of the best clubs in the world and boasting a crazy history. Then I really missed Italy, a country where I felt good and where I like living. For the people, of course, and for the’importance of soccer here”.
Rabiot’s goals at AC Milan, however, are clear: “It“s true that I won the Scudetto in my first year at Juventus, but there’was the Covid and we didn’t manage to celebrate it as we would have liked. So I would also like to win it with Milan, that is for sure. I will do everything I can to make it”.
The Frenchman on Friday also revealed that he spoke with Theo Hernandez before the latter’s move to Real Madrid: “I also spoke with Theo: even though he is not here now, he assured me that here we work well, the environment is special. For my part, I have achieved so many goals with PSG and Juventus, but I am still hungry: I want to score a lot of goals and assist, to help this team fight for the top positions and return to the Champions”.
The arrival of Rabiot represented one of the most important strikes of the Rossoneri summer soccer market. Milan acquired the midfielder outright from Olympique Marseille, with the Frenchman signing a contract until June 30, 2028. A deal that came to fruition after a long negotiation, with Marseille initially asking for 15 million euros for the player’s card.
The path that brought Rabiot to Milan was facilitated by some particular episodes that occurred during his last experience at Marseille. The midfielder had ended up on the fringes of the team after some internal disagreements, including a quarrel with teammate Jonathan Rowe, who later moved to Bologna. “These are locker room things that can happen – Rabiot explained during Friday’s press conference. Among other things between us everything is resolved, we sent each other messages after his transfer to Bologna and wished each other the best for the future. It will be nice to see him again as early as Sunday evening”.
