Audero shuts the door: Hellas Verona-Cremonese ends goalless
Hellas Verona, despite several scoring chances, fails to seize the opportunity to get its first league win on its debut at the Bentegodi against Cremonese. Audero closes every opening to the young Scaligeri forwards, giving the Grigiorossi a point. It ends 0-0 in front of 21,406 spectators including 1,300 visiting fans. Standings: Cremonese 7, Verona 2. The pace drops: Verona, by now squeezed, lets the guests do their thing and they try, but the Scaligera rearguard does not leave a pin in the road. 34′: Zanetti inserts in Verona Niasse, Sarr and Al-Musrati, Nicola responds with Floriani Mussolini. 4 minutes of recovery, Sarmineto tries from outside, Montipò is there. The poison at the tail end: Sarr, accomplice to a wrong disengagement, s’invades, enters the area and kicks, miracle Audero, on the rebound near own goal: corner from which nothing springs.
