Worlds, Filippo Ganna points to the'man to beat

These are the words of Filippo Ganna, surprise guest at the presentation of the National Team for the World Cycling Championships. Ganna accompanied Matteo Sobrero, who is engaged to his sister.

“It is always nice to smell d’azzurro, but today I am here to accompany Matteo and of course to give my moral support to the boys. I won&#8217t be at the World Championships for obvious reasons, but I&#8217m working to prepare for the European Championships.”

“The national team for the World Championships can count on many riders who have competed in a very hard Vuelta and so they will certainly have the ideal condition to face the commitment,” continued the Verbanese rider, who is back from the Vuelta, in which he won the Valladolid time trial.

Then Ganna pointed to the man to beat: “Pogacar, but there will certainly be no shortage of opponents and we hope that there will also be some Azzurri to give battle”. The World Championships are scheduled in Rwanda, in Kigali, and the men’s Èlite road race will be held on Sunday, September 28.
