It could not fail and it did not fail: Ferdinando De Giorgi’s Italy men&#8217s team beat Ukraine 3-0 and qualified for the round of 16 at the world championships in the Philippines. 25-21 25-22 25-18 were the set partials. The Azzurri will face Argentina on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Italian time.

De Giorgi chose the Giannelli-Romanò diagonal, Michieletto and Bottolo the hammers, Gargiulo and Russo in the middle and Balaso free. Lozano responded with Synytsia setter, Tupchii opposite, Drodz and Semeniuk center, Yanchuk and Kovalov setters, Boiko free.

In the first set there was balance until 14-14, then Italy gradually took over until 21-17, a lead it then administered. The second partial was even more balanced with the Azzurri from 23-22 closing the file with an attack and then a wall by Michieletto. The third set, however, is without history.
