The “Friendly derby” of Merseyside will kick off, at lunchtime (more precisely when it will be 1:30 p.m. in Italy) the fifth day of the Premier League 2025-2026: in fact, Liverpool hosts the’Everton at Anfield, in a match that is already important to test the ranking ambitions of both teams, protagonists of a positive start in the league.

Liverpool, after slipping in the Community Shield, has only been winning, making the most of its ability to score in the endgame: even the Champions League match against Atletico, which the Colchoneros had taken from 2-0 down to 2-2, ended 3-2 for the Reds with Virgil van Dijk’s goal in 92′. The rocky Dutch defender will be among the stars of the match, along with the trident composed of Gakpo, Salah and Ekitiké.

On the other hand, Everton is not willing to play the sacrificial victim and, indeed, dreams of the blow at Anfield that has been missing since 2021 (2-0, played, however, behind closed doors due to Covid). Coach David Moyes is banking on an offensive lineup that vete in front of former Udinese man Beto along with Dewsbury Hall and Grealish, while in midfield there will be room, barring surprises, for Gueye, Iroegbunam and Ndiaye.

Probable lineups

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Frimpong, Robertson, Konate, van Dijk; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Wirtz; Gakpo, Salah, Ekitiké. All. Slot.

EVERTON (4-3-3): Pickford; O’Brien, Garner, Tarkowski, Keane; Gueye, Iroegbunam, Ndiaye; Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish, Beto. All. Moyes.
