Coppa Italia 2025-2026: Cagliari-Frosinone, the likely lineups
It will be Cagliari and Frosinone, at the home of the Rossoblù coached by Fabio Pisacane, to open the three-day event dedicated to the Italian Cup round of 16: at the Unipol Domus the kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m., the winning team will face Napoli in the round of 16. As per the regulations, there will be no extra time: in case of a tie at 90′ it will go directly to penalties.
After the double consecutive success against Parma and Lecce, two direct competitors for salvation, Cagliari approaches the Cup with the’intention of resting the most employed players, while giving minutes to those who have played less. Thus, space in goal for Ciocci, in defense for Zé Pedro, Mazzitelli on the midfield line and Kilicsoy in attack.
On the other hand, the Giallorossi coach Massimiliano Alvini has every intention of preserving the season’s unbeaten streak, but even in this case he might rely on those who have found less space in this beginning of the season in Serie B: however, Kvernadze in attack and Calò in midfield should be confirmed as starters. Pisseri will be in goal in place of Palmisani.
