Marc Marquez is preparing to celebrate his ninth career world title: after a dominating season, the Ducati centaur could celebrate as early as next Sunday in Motegi, at the Japanese Grand Prix, the World Championship that would equal him to Valentino Rossi. The number 93 has a 182-point lead over his brother Alex Marquez, who is second in the standings, and could close it out without too much trouble.

Marc Marquez will become world champion in Motegi if he closes the weekend by accumulating another three-point margin over Alex, adding up both the Sprint race and the classic Sunday race. The Catalan rider will not be able to be champion immediately on Saturday, because Alex could make up the disadvantage the next day: so everything will be decided next Sunday.

The Catalan rider has allowed only crumbs to his opponents in 2025, and he has literally been devastating in the last nine races, winning eight and finishing second in Catalonia. In total, Marc Marquez has scored 512 points in 16 GPs, a figure already higher than that of 2024 champion Jorge Martin at the end of the year.

Ducati team principal Dall’Igna crowned Marc Marquez in recent days: “In Misano a thrilling victory on a special track: a home GP that once again bears the signature of an incredible Marc Marquez, undisputed king of 2025, who took his 11th victory in the sixteen races held” here.
