With the finalization of the first closing that brings the’80% of the shares of Monza into the hands of Beckett Layne Ventures, Adriano Galliani&#8217s adventure within the managerial framework of the Brianza club definitively closes. For the manager from Monza, the hypothesis of a return to Milan, where he could play the role of super consultant, is now concretely rekindled.

Already during the summer just ended, the hypothesis of a return of Galliani to the Rossoneri, to collaborate with the current ownership, was back alive. The 1944-born executive, a longtime trusted man of Silvio Berlusconi, was Milan’s chief executive from March 1986 to April 2017, also serving as deputy vice president and contributing to the winning of twenty-nine trophies in thirty-one years.

Galliani’s decision had been in the air for weeks and materialized this morning, when the executive officially notified the new ownership and Fininvest of his decision not to continue his adventure with Monza. “It was a difficult choice, I was born and raised in Monza, Monza is the soccer team I have been cheering for since the age of 5’age 5” said the manager from Brianza, explaining his desire to devote himself to other activities and to leave maximum freedom to the new management.

The transfer of ownership of the Brianza club represents the end of an era that began with Silvio Berlusconi and culminated with the historic promotion to Serie A won in May 2022. Beckett Layne Ventures took control of 80 percent of the shares, while Fininvest will retain a 20 percent stake that will be sold by June 2026. The new owners publicly thanked Galliani for his work and wished him well in his present and future activities.
